As most people know, T.H.M.S.A. is my second home. Softball is my life. Briley has been playing since 3 years old. Lakyn's already learning things at 2! Shawn and I often wonder what we will be doing after our girls are grown and moved on. And we both have come to the realization that we'll be like Brad Cox, our current President and Jeff Jacso, our treasurer, down at the Diamond helping other girls learn or keeping the ballpark running.
I have been an active part of THMSA for a couple years now. I'm a go-getter and like being involved. It started just with helping get Spring registrations out. Then somehow I took over running the Spring softball program. I didn't mind though. It was a lot of work, but it's totally worth it. Laura Simmons helped me out tremendously with it. She's my co-partner when it comes to getting things done. A HUGE help! :)
I have never even thought about being a board member. In fact, at first, everyone said to join and I didn't want to. I was content doing things for the ballpark without a title.
Jeff nominated me for the Area Rep position back in October so that I was officially a board member that could help make decisions. So, alas I was a board member. However, I didn't feel any differently! :)
Mike Telezyn, our Vice President for several years decided to resign and nominate me for his position. He has done a FANTASTIC job in this spot, I couldn't believe that he was giving it up. If there is someone that knows about the ballpark and how it runs, it is him! I was nominated and appointed on January 30th at the board meeting the V.P. position.
I have to admit that I'm pretty excited to be in a special position for this ballpark that I call my second home. I love this place, there is so much potential and so many girls have gone through this program.
I can't say that I'm not proud to be the new Vice President of THMSA, because I most certainly am! I hope to make the most of my position and give my utmost to the ballpark!
